Study Visit on Budapest

Last Friday, we were in Budapest on a study visit to learn about the Inclusive Kindergartens project, its implementers and the Child Friendly Józsefváros concept. Gábor Erőss, Deputy Mayor of Józsefváros, welcomed us, followed by Ivett Kovács, the project's professional manager; Gábor Bernáth, the project's communication manager, Erzsébet Aissou, the head of Józsefváros Kindergartens, and Edina Kozmárné Szabó, the deputy head of the development and general institution responsible for inclusive kindergarten education and equal opportunities; Éva Deák, representative of the Partners Hungary Foundation, and Ágnes Kende Rosa Parks Foundation, representatives of the consortium partners of the project, gave an insight into their work. Afterwards, we visited a kindergarten in Józsefváros, which is about to be renovated and which applies an inclusive methodology. We ended the day with an unforgettable lunch at the inimitable restaurant "I won't give up". The visit was attended by participants of our Foundation's Early Years Matter programme, local professionals such as  nurses, kindergarten teachers and NGO representatives, to get inspiration and ideas to launch similar desegregation and inclusive education programmes in the North-Eastern Hungary region. Thank you for your hospitality and for sharing your experiences!
