The Dorkász Foundation has received a grant of 500.000 HUF from the Carpathian Emergency Response Fund for the Ukrainians. The long-term goal of the Dorkász Foundation is the integration of the Transcarpathian Roma families living in the Dorkász campsite in Debrecen and their children into the Hungarian public education system. Building on the experience and success of their previous round of applications, they organise folk dance activities for the children living in the reception centre. Within the framework of the project "Folk dance in the Dorkász campsite", a total of 10 dance classes are being organised. Folk dancing is a great way to exercise, sing together, no tools or special equipment are needed, it is a great stress reliever and it is a great way to keep the children engaged and involved. It is important to contribute to the integration of children through leisure activities, not just compulsory developmental activities. There are currently 48 children of school age in 5 groups, for whom recreational folk dance sessions are organised locally.
