Summer activities of the "From the Alps to the Carpathians" project

Title of the project: "From the Alps to the Carpathians - strengthening governence models for sustainable development of mountain areas in Central Europe project+

 

The Carpathians Foundation-Hungary, with the support of the European Regional Development Fund Interreg Central Europe Programme 2021-2027, is working with its partners in the project "From the Alps to the Carpathians: strengthening local governance models for sustainable development in mountainous areas of Central Europe" revitalize the Carpathian Civil Platform. To this end, a needs assessment of rural civil society organisations in the Carpathian region in Slovakia, Ukraine, Poland, Romania and Hungary will be carried out in August and September 2023. The aim of the survey is to understand the needs and expectations of the organisations in terms of cross-border cooperation and to involve them in the joint planning of the Platform's future activities. The results of the survey will be shared and discussed in workshops with the activated organisations.  The assessed needs and the results of the workshops will be summarised in a summary, which will form the basis for future activities of the civil society organisations participating in the Platform.

The Carpathian Civil Society Platform, established in 2018, is a network of civil society organisations from the Carpathian region - Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Ukraine bordering areas. Its main objective is to strengthen cooperation between civil society organisations at local regional level and across borders and to strengthen their capacities. Since the Platform's establishment, regional networks have been created in each country; capacity building trainings have been carried out; annual inter-regional (Carpathian region-wide) meetings have been organised to exchange experiences and build partnerships between CSOs; and the Platform has established the Social Innovation Award.
