We held a successful workshop about voluntarism in Balassagyarmat

On the 17th August, 2017 we had a successful workshop on voluntarism organized in Balassagyarmat within the framework of the project "Strengthening and Activating Small Communities of Northeast Hungary" (EFOP-1.3.5-16-2016-00915). The primary purpose of the program was to prepare the representatives of small communities and NGOs in Nógrád county participating in the project on how to receive, recruit and manage volunteers. The event covered the legally regulated framework of school community service, its local practice, and the importance of mentoring and rewarding volunteers.

The program was open to public not only for the participants of the project, so the workshop promoted voluntarism and disseminated widespread its practice. The invited stakeholders discussed the possibility of creating the Voluntary Round Table of Balassagyarmat. The main purpose of the Round Table would be the coordination of voluntarism at local level and the involvement and collaboration of relevant civil society organizations and institutions. Participants plan to elaborate the establishment of the Roundtable in the future.

The Ipoly Television made a brief report on the project, with Melinda Vartik, the project manager. The video is available on the following link: https://goo.gl/Nd7XHo
