Carpathian Social Innovation Award
The Carpathian Foundation and its cross-border partners coordinating the Carpathian Civil Society Platform are launching a Social Innovation Award to recognize and support the best rural community initiatives in the Carpathian Euroregion (Hungary, Slovakia, Ukraine, Poland).
For this occasion, a call for proposals was launched in the respected countries in the autumn of 2021, opened to registered CSOs and informal communities through community-based initiatives in the region implemented in the past two years. In Hungary, a total of 9 applications were received by the deadline of 30 November 2021, all of which were excellent and thus the professional committee conducting the evaluation and the Board of Trustees of the Foundation had an extremely difficult task regarding the decision.
The prize and the associated non-refundable financial support were awarded to the following three initiatives:
- place: ÉKKŐ Association: Infinite love hidden in a heart pillow – 300.000 HUF non-refundable donation.
- place: FÉSZA-KÖR Association: Abathon – community developing marathon – 200.000 HUF non-refundable donation.
- place: Somnakuno Drom Roma Women’s Civil Association: Let’s renovate the pediatrician’s office of Nagykálló together – 100.000 HUF non-refundable donation
In addition, two applications won the special prize, during which they will be able to submit an application for the implementation of one of their related mini-projects up to the amount of HUF 100,000 and the costs of this will be covered directly by the Foundation:
Special Prize 1.: Kis Bocs Baba-Mama Public Benefit Association: Fairy Service
Special Prize 2.: Association of the Blind and Partially Sighted in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county: Tele couch Informational Service
All the application teams were invited to the international conference to be held in March 2022, during which they could present themselves and get to know each other, together with their award-winning initiatives in other countries of the Carpathian region. The awards will be officially presented at this event. The most innovative initiatives will also be presented in a publication.
The Carpathian Social Innovation Award is supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden in Budapest and the Carpathian Foundation. The project is supported by the International Visegrad Fund.
Congratulations to all applicants!
