The Future of Our Children Is Our Shared Responsibility

On May 21, 2025, the conference titled "The Future of Our Children Is Everyone's Responsibility!" was held in Eger at the House of Civil Communities, organized by the newly established Early Childhood Platform. The event aimed to emphasize the critical importance of early childhood years, strengthen collaboration among professional communities, and share international best practices. Among the approximately 65 participants were teachers, representatives of civil society organizations, health visitors, and local government leaders who shared their experiences.

The conference was opened by Dr. Zoltán Gloviczki, Rector of Apor Vilmos Catholic College, with his keynote speech, followed by an introduction to the goals of the Early Childhood Platform. After the plenary presentations, the participants continued their work in four parallel breakout sessions, discussing child-centered pedagogical approaches, the role of municipalities, civil cooperation, and the challenges of professional training.

In addition to domestic experts, international specialists also participated online, including Kateřina Sirotková (Czech Republic), Veronika Miškech Fričová (Slovakia), and Bjorn Martens (Belgium), who shared system-level solutions from their respective countries. The event concluded with closing remarks by Éva Deák (Partners Hungary) and Boglárka Bata (Carpathian Foundation), who outlined potential future collaborations.

The key message of the conference was clear: supporting early childhood is not just an educational or social issue—it is a shared societal responsibility.

We welcome new members to join the Early Childhood Platform. Our shared work continues!
