Summer Camp 2025-Carpathian Civil Society Platform in Eger

Active youth involvement Conference – July 29–31, 2025

On July 29, an opening dinner brought together the younger and older generations. On July 30, the event day focused on active youth participation: young people from across the Carpathian region, representatives of civil society organizations, and experts explored networking opportunities, took part in panel discussions, and worked together in interactive workshops. Highlights of the day included an online keynote speech by Nicolae Ștefănuță, Vice-President of the European Parliament, presentations by youth organizations and cross-border initiatives, and the award ceremony of the Carpathian Civil Innovation Award. Participants also received information on funding opportunities from the International Visegrad Fund and the upcoming Mini-Grant Program to be launched by the Carpathian Foundation–Hungary.

We were delighted by these inspiring presentations and discussions!

On July 31, the program began with a roundtable discussion on the Youth Bank model and youth initiatives from Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania, with a focus on practical implementation strategies and future opportunities for cross-border cooperation. This was followed by a panel discussion on the current state and challenges of civil society in Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Ukraine. The event concluded with a plenary session on the future of the Civil Platform of the Carpathian Region, including its formal structure, opportunities for joining the platform, and the promotion of the Carpathian Regional Leadership Academy (CARLA). The conference ended with a joint summary and outlining of the next steps, emphasizing regional cooperation and mutual support among civil society organizations in the Carpathian Region.

We thank all participants and speakers for being part of the event. More details to come soon!

The Hungarian partner's participation in the project is financed by the Hungarian State.
The project is co-financed by the Governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from the International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
