We are very pleased to announce that the Carpathian Foundation was represented at the Central Mountains project meeting, which took place in Mallnitz, 4-6 June 2024. The event was attended by the President of the Board of Directors of our Foundation, Sándor Köles, and our colleague Mercédesz Németh.
On 5 June, after registration in the morning, we reviewed the project at the Hohe Tauern National Park headquarters, covering project management, financial progress, communication and a presentation of the pilot projects. Lunch was followed by a short study tour and excursion in the national park, where we admired the nearby mountain peaks of the Alps.
On 6 June, a detailed presentation of the pilot actions of the second period and next steps, as well as an overview of the methodological and monitoring framework took place in the morning, followed by a short study tour and guided tour of the national park headquarters in the afternoon, and a final discussion and sharing of experiences concluded the day-long event.
The event was an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and learn from good practices. We are grateful to all participants for their active participation and cooperation!
We will organise the next partners' meeting in March, where we will discuss the Carpathian Civil Society Platform, the next steps to be taken and introduce the Bükk and its surroundings to the project partners coming to the region.
