Transnational Giving Europe – Year of 2015’s outcomes

Transnational Giving Europe (TGE www.transnationalgiving.eu) is a partnership of leading European foundations and associations that facilitates tax-efficient cross-border giving within Europe. The TGE network enables donors, both corporations and individuals, resident in one of the participating countries, to financially support non-profit organizations in other member countries, while benefiting directly from the tax advantages provided for in the legislation of their country of residence. TGE is currently operational for donations from and to Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. The Carpathian Foundation is the member of TGE Network.

In the year of 2015 Croatia joined to the network as a new partner. In 2015, TGE made it possible for € 7,9 million to reach organizations across Europe. The biggest amount of donation come from Germany (€ 2,4 million), followed by Belgium with €1,6 million and France with €1,3 million – furthermore gifts come from Ireland, France, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Italy and Spain. The country that received the biggest amount is the United Kingdom with € 3,4 million, followed by France with € 2 million and Switzerland with more than € 900,000 – but Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Slovenia, Hungary, Italy, Slovakia, Croatia, Romania and Bulgaria also received donations. In 2015 with a total number of 4487 donors, we have a proportion of 9 individual donors for 1 corporate donor. The most popular sector for donors remained the Education.
