Scholars of the Carpathian Equal Opportunities Scholarship Program of the 2011/2012 academic year

On 8th August 2011 the Carpathian Foundation-Hungary called a selection committee to select the scholars of the Carpathian Equal Opportunities Scholarship to the 2011/2012 academic year. The members of the committee were Dr Éva Gyulai the Head of the History Department of University of Miskolc, Ildikó Lökös Szegediné from the Duropack-Starpack Ltd., Gergely Guszmann assistant professor from the Eszterházy Károly College and Anikó Magyar program coordinator from the Carpathian Foundation-Hungary.

Study Tour for American University students

Between 20 and 22 of June, 2011 Carpathian Foundation Hungary hosted 5 students and their teachers from GeorgiaTech University, Atlanta. The students visited the Foundation’s office; experienced its operational structures and programs, and they also visited some NGOs operating in the region - Kaptárkő Conservationist and Cultural Association, Roma Association Szomolya, Farkaskő Cave Art Association and SZETA Eger.

Winners of the photo contest Visegrad in Images have been awarded!

 

Photo contest for young amateur photographers took place in March through May 2011. Purpose of the contest was to raise the public awareness of unique sights in the Visegrad region, and to underline interesting moments of collaborations on the local level

The contest was a part of the Perspectives in the Visegrad Region Project implemented with the funding support of the International Visegrad Fund.

Christmas donation!

In December, 2010 by the donation of the Salgo Center Coop Hungary Ltd. and the Elephant  Hungary Ltd.  the Carpathian Foundation donated 3,000 packs of breadsticks to the SZETA Foundation and the Szücsi Minority Self-Government.

Agreement on the EEA and Norwegian Financial Mechanisms

The Kingdom of Norway and the European Union have signed the Agreement on the EEA and Norwegian Financial Mechanisms on 28 July 2010.
According to the agreement, 15 EU members, including Hungary, will receive roughly 1.7 billion Euros over a five-year period (2009-2014). Hungary’s share of this amount will be slightly over EUR 150 million (approx. HUF 40 billion).

Integration and migration in the European Union

IMPROVED FUTURE -Multiplier seminar 28 September, 2010- Malmö

 
IMPROVED FUTURE entitled conference was held in Malmö between 27 and 29 September 2010 with the participation of Carpathian Foundation – Hungary. Boglárka Bata and Anikó Magyar got acquainted with immigration and migration policies of different countries.
