EUROIRSE: A new European study on best practices and situation of self-employment

The Carpathian Foundation considers self-employment as a breaking-out possibility for disadvantaged social groups, settlements and regions, therefore we support the spreading and strengthening of the different forms of self-employment through our programs and projects.

Christmas donation-2011

In December the Foundation donated three computers  to three non-governmental organizations, and an English encyclopedia series to the Eszterházy Károly College of Eger.

"Bridges to work" program in Antwerp

Between 16-21 October, 2011 Anikó Magyar (program coordinator) and Daniel Krámos (volunteer of the Foundation) participated on the "Bridges to Work" conference, seminar and training series in Antwerp (Belgium). The event was organized by the SALTO-YOUTH Center. In all from all over Europe 94 unemployed young people with their accompanies (mentors, "coaches") and other representatives (employers, experts)  were attended.

Empowering European Citizens

 
 
Empowering European Citizens is an intercultural project co-funded by the European Commission, British Council and ten civil society organisations across Europe.
It incorporates the British Council’s Active Citizens programme, training and development methods, and global networks.
Empowering European Citizens project is delivered in Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Sweden.

Tom Lantos Institue: Summer Seminar for Roma and Non-Roma Youth

Almost 20 young people have participated in the summer seminar in August organized by Tom Lantos Institute and its partners. The participants discussed topics such as extremism, gender roles and equality, minority issues, migration tendencies and practices, social exclusion and discrimination, or education policies. They also had the chance to visit two local projects by the Carpathian Foundation aimed to help the poor in the region. Apart from the lectures, many cultural events were offered so that they got know Eger and its surroundings.
