The ambassador of Sweden was our guest

His Excellency Dag Hartelius, the Swedish Ambassador of Budapest, invited by the Carpathian Foundation made a visit in and around Eger on 13 July 2021. The ambassador began his visit at the town hall of Eger, where he was received by Deputy Mayor Gábor Minczér.

He then visited Szomolya, where Irénke Lázár, president of the Hungarian-Roma Association in Szomolya, presented the gap-filling work of her organization, which has been carried out with the disadvantaged local (Roma) community with the aim of their integration for more than 15 years now.

Our next stop was at Noszvaj, where the Wolf Stone Association presented the history of the creation of the artists' colony in the cave dwellings and their diverse activities.

Following this, the staff, the board of trustees and the members of the supervisory board of the Carpathian Foundation presented the work of the organization, mainly in the field of catching up in rural areas, and our currently running programs.

Finally, to close the day, we organized a workshop with the NGOs of Eger and the region about the situation of rural NGOs.
