Thankfully to the 1% tax offerings of private persons and to the contribution of Fred Robey, our Foundation announced its Carpathian Equal Opportunities Scholarship Program for the 2016/2017 semesters.
In the program we plan to support 1-3 disadvantaged students who live and study in the Carpathian Euroregion in Hungary. Similarly to the previous years we are waiting for the applications of those students who live and study in the region, whose academic average is 3,5 or above, socially disadvantaged and committed to the sustainable development of this region. Those applicants who write their thesis according to the problems and possible solutions of the problems of the region will have an advantage in the recruitment process.
This year we pay a special attention to those students who finished secondary school (with an average of 4) and applied to continue their studies in one of the colleges or universities of the region.
As every year scholars -based on their study profile and in co-operation with a local civil organization-, agree to work out and manage a one year volunteer project called ‘For the region in the region’. It is expected that the scholars spend 8-10 hours a week with their volunteer project, in order to manage that their schedule will be set up individually. Scholars will be granted for 10-30.000 HUF monthly.
