Statement on the war in Ukraine

For almost three decades, the Carpathian Foundation, which embraces the bordering areas of Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Ukraine, has contributed to the development of the Carpathian Region. Our Foundation fosters cross-border cooperation, overcoming language barriers, cultural and historical differences to strengthen the role of civil society in local development, thus contributing to the territorial cohesion of the Carpathians.

The current war in Europe contradicts everything the Carpathian Foundation and its partners stand for.

Workshops for civil society organizations in Rzeszów

As part of the Central Mountains project, our partners held several professional workshops in November.

One of the events was organized by the Peritum Foundation, which presented the practical application of artificial intelligence in the everyday operations of civil society organizations. The participating organizations tried out various AI tools, such as those for preparing official letters, project budgets, and administrative documents. In addition, they received a tried and tested collection of practical prompts that they can immediately use in their own work.

Project meeting in Slovakia

Between November 25 and 27, 2025, Mercédesz Németh and Beáta Csomós took part in a professional meeting organized by the Association of Towns and Municipalities of Slovakia (ZMOS) in the Stará Ľubovňa region as part of the "Central Mountains" project. We saw good examples of professional cooperation between local self governments and civil society organizations, tested a tourist map and digital communication application currently under development, and discussed the difficulties and successes of the project, as well as opportunities for further cooperation.

Fundraising and donation management

How can we create stable sources of funding for the operation of a civil society organization? What new tools, community and online solutions are worth trying? And how can we do all this while strengthening the community and the cause?

We sought answers to these questions at our workshop held on November 13, 2025, in Eger, where we worked together with representatives of civil society organizations, led by fundraising expert Dalma Kökény, through practical examples, joint brainstorming, and inspiring discussions.

During the program, we discussed
